It depends on where you go.  When I was contracting
for the Tank and Automotive Command in Warren, MI,
they used Linux.  Of course, they also used SGI
quite a bit, since they were doing tank simulators
and the kind of graphics we were doing were (and 
still are) a joke on Windows machines.  So, I'm sure
there is Linux somewhere in the Army, you just have to
look for it.
