[TriLUG] Intranets, Virtual Community

I have been experimenting with intranets, virtual communities using 
intranets.com.  This seems to be an awesome application for business 
purposes.  The price is not justified though, for my company.  Does 
anyone have any experience using this and is there an open source 
solution that can give the same user interface that this product offers.
