If you are going to be at the installfest, it would be best if you 
could copy the 8mm tape straight to a MiniDV deck (which it sounds like 
there may be one available to copy to at the installfest).  I don't 
have an 8mm deck but going from 8mm to MiniDV directly would probably 
provide the best quality transfer, and would be the most ideal to work 
with in post production.
