Actually, Brett, believe it or not, Mandrake these days
has pretty much the same release schedule as RedHat (about
every six months).  They do, however, tend to have more
up to date stuff in their distribution, and a wider
variety.  This is mainly because of how the distribution
is put together.  Unlike rawhide, which, iirc, is just a
snapshot of what redhat is working on internally, Mandrake
Cooker is put together by the community.  Therefore, if
someone wants something, they can package it together
and it will generally get into "contrib".  If a package
gets used more it will be moved from contrib into main.
The key is that the community decides what they want in
the distro.  Is this better or worse than any other distro?  No,
it's just different.
