Ok, so you have at least the ac97_codec.o and emu10k1.o loaded.

This may be a red herring. On my system, these are aliased in the
equivalent of /etc/modules.conf (actually in /etc/alsa/modutils/0.9 on
my Debian system, but that's irrelevant). Mozilla (and derivatives) are
known to cause the above spew when initializing the Flash plugin.

So back to your original problem. You appear to be using OSS/Free (from
the dmesg output), so does ``cat /dev/urandom > /dev/dsp'' give a loud
screech or anything?
