[TriLUG] earthlink mail rejection

given the recent thread on RR port scanning/attacking SMTP hosts, i thought 
these two rejections were interesting:

<xxxxxxxxx at earthlink.net>: host mx00.earthlink.net[207.217.120.28] said:
    550 Dynamic IPs/open relays blocked. Contact
    <openrelay at abuse.earthlink.net>.

<xxxxxxxxx at mindspring.com>: host mx03.mindspring.com[207.69.200.186] said:
    550 Dynamic IPs/open relays blocked. Write 
<openrelay at abuse.earthlink.net>.

it seems that earthlink/mindspring will not accept mail from SMTP servers with 
dynamic IPs or ones that are considered open relays (how they make either 
determination is unknown).  discuss.
