I ran across this report on spam and thought ya'll might find it
interesting.

"The results offer Internet users insights about what online behavior
results in the most spam. The results also debunk some of the myths
about spam."
Most importantly, they found that posting your e-mail address on public
web sites is the biggest way to attract spam.
