As my old service manager used to say, "Epson, it shouldn't work but it does." I've had nothing but problems with Epson printers over the years, but they just work. However, the quality of the parts of these things leave a little to be desired.

I would also recommend sticking with HP if at all possible. Try to get one that DOESN'T require windows. Better yet, go to www.linuxprinting.org as well as www.linux-usb.org and see if you can find a printer match with the features/price you are looking for that will be native under Linux. This way, you could share a native printer via samba, or CUPS or something other than having to run a Windows only printer (like any HP with "cxi" in the name) on a Windows box. I know some have been able to get them on Linux, but not to the full capacity that the Windows drivers give.

Good luck.
