ARCserve 9.0 has full Linux support, and is a MAJOR step forward from
ARCserve 2000 which was lacking some key things.  From box to
backup...10 to 15 minutes.  From what I was used to, this was a cool
thing.

That is what I am told by Veritas support also.  I have a customer 
currently using ArcServe on Win 2000 server to backup Red Hat Advanced 
Server clients.  Same problem there too - the client agent for Linux is 
available but unsupported.  We have been considering moving him to 
Veritas Backup Exec, but their support also tells me the client agent is

available but unsupported.
