Is there a particular reason you cannot use a demo account at Red Hat
Network (RHN) -- the default setup for up2date? I understand if you
have a lot of computers the demo account isn't doable, but for one box
it should be fine.
Red Hat Linux 7.1 is still "supported" in the sense that Errata are
still supplied and RHN will still work. Its end-of-life date is the end
of 2003.
You can also try apt for rpm from http://ayo.freshrpms.net/ . That site
has repositories going back to RHL 6.2.
