I now have Linux as the main OS on all of my home machines, for those
Windows apps that I have to use and can't/won't find suitable
alternatives Win4Lin is GREAT! I use Quickbooks and I use PhotoShop and
the Macromedia MX Studio for web design. Its fast and reliable,
considering it *is* Windows. I can run my Windows session in a full
screen and toggle back and forth (using Ctrl-Alt-F7/F8 etc..) or run
Windows in a window if its more convenient. It does not support Direct
X so many games will not work (or most? I don't know, don't usually
play games anyway). It also uses the Linux file system, instead of a
single file with all of your Windows partitions in it. My ~/mydata
directory, for instance is the D: drive in Win4Lin, so its easy to cp
files etc...
Netraverse also gives a discount for TriLUG members, IIRC it was 20%.
