[TriLUG] passing parameters to programs via launcher in gnome and samba

i tried to eliminate the password prompt to no avail:
 
vncpasswd
Password: blah
Verify: blah
Cannot write password file /home/jim/.vnc/passwd
 
any hints?  looks interesting.
