Eeek, this is part of the confusion. If you mix and match Stable/etc.
apt lines, you should look at apt_preferences(5), particularly pinning.

Or "updates installed packages to versions referenced by last ``apt-get
update'' without installing new packages."

> dist-upgrade => Upgrades the current distribution to the next one

Here's where there are a couple paths. If you have a mixed sources.list
like yours but without pinning, this does as you said. If you have a
mixed sources.list but with pinning, or if you have a non-mixed
sources.list, this "updates installed packages to versions referenced
by last ``apt-get update'' including installing new packages to meet
dependencies."

FWIW, you're better off using Woody backports from Sid...
