[TriLUG] Converting development from MS to Linux

I'm not sure about NetBeans, but in a post earlier this week, I mentioned
FreeTDS which allowed me to connect Linux w/ Apache/PHP to a M$SQL7 server. 
I'm sure there are other alternatives.
