A lot, actually.

If you are going to go to the pain of moving to another job market, you
ought to take the time to evaluate the job market you want to move to
and see if it is viable or not. I was in a pinch and found that
Philadelphia was doing better than RTP. What helped is that I had a
strong support network in Philly (lots of family) so I got a job up
here and moved.

I've had three calls in the last week from headhunters who had VERY
GOOD FITS for jobs for me. In RTP I could go 8 months without getting
a single call back let alone an interview (and believe me I was
looking... for a year and a half!) This is for a sysadmin with 9 years
of experience with both Windows and UNIX.

Ask again after the next hurricane hits. You could be on a waiting
list for a carpenter for a looong loooooooong time down there after a
hurricane hits.
