Ah yes, the stock troll of the self-proclaimed patriot, all dressed up
in the flag. Ignore the argument entirely or poo-poo points made in it
and respond with nothing more than, "If you're just going to bitch
about this country, then you can leave anytime." The implication that
saying anything negative about the "good ol' US of A" is unpatriotic,
un-American. That to exercise one's First Amendment rights is somehow
vulgar and immoral. To even claim there is a problem is wrong.
That's crap, sir.
A patriot is one who is willing to say something in the county is less
than perfect or broken, and then do something about it, even if it's
just get others to agree with him. A patriot is one who will look at
how others have done it differently, and argue their merits. In
public. A patriot will do the right thing, even if it means he doesn't
directly benefit from it.
Come to think of it, that's what makes a good Open Source hacker, too.
Congratulations, Jim. By demonstrating all the political acumen of a
fourth-grade bully, you've earned an equal amount of my respect.
Welcome to my kill file.
