First, I need to point out that you *were* nominated, at least twice,
but never elected. But that is not why I felt moved to respond to this.
But I really take exception to the statement about the TriLUG hardware
being used exclusively by the SC. This was the case for awhile (under
different leadership), but for the last year or so it simply hasn't
been true.
Have you actually read the TriLUG FAQ? The member services FAQ?
Here is a little something you might find interesting:

Those are a lot of logins. And those are just interactive shell
sessions opened on one of our several hots.
Then there is the ftp mirror. Among others, I'm very glad to have that
resource available when the better known public mirrors get slammed.
Then there is email. You did know that as a member you're entitled to
an email box, right? The TriLUG email service are worth the trouble of
filling out a membership form all by itself. Just a casual look at
moya shows me that we have quite a number of people using the email
service. This is a list of the IMAP spools on moya. People who use
POP3 or .forward won't have this, so the real number of trilug.org
mailboxes is higher:

That's a heck of a lot more people than the SC (five people).
Then there are the personal web pages. Yeah, you are entitled to that,
too, as part of your shell account.
Ever since the LDAP/Kerberos facilities were put in place, a wealth of
*free* services have been available to TriLUG members just for the
asking. It all runs on the donated hardware and donated bandwidth that
you seem to think five people are hoarding.
On behalf of all of the people who pulled together to make these
services available, without any sort of compensation other than the
warm fuzzy feeling of a job well done for the public good, "you're
welcome". (I'm but one of many who set aside a lot of personal time,
and money, and hardware to make this happen.)
