Roy,
Another option you might want to consider (which I am considering) is to
use a wireless access point/bridge thingy. They connect to the machine
through a standard nic, so you don't have to worry about driver issues.
BestBuy has a Dlink version (DWP-800+ I think) for 79.99 which isn't
much more than a desktop wireless NIC anyway.
