I am assisting a friend in Canada by posting this note. He asked me if I
knew anyone that was using Web Versioning software and here are his
details.
***
What we are hoping to do is have a publishing server separate
from the production webserver. The publishing server will have web
authoring and versioning. After the web team fully test their code and
web pages then they can publish it to the production webserver. Besides
our own web team their are faculty and staff members that have their own
web sites and they also need to be able to publish JUST their own
webspace over to the webserver. We don't have any program developers
and it seems to me that alot of the open source stuff requires quite a
bit of programming to get what we want. Plus it has to be quite simple
to publish or else faculty and staff members will find it to difficult
and we will get nothing but complaints from them. You know how faculty
can get. I am willing to spend money on a commercial product if there
is no easy solution through open source.
