No, no, no! Learn csh and ksh first!!! ;)
Seriously, Bourne would be good to learn, but I'd also recommend being
familiar with csh and/or ksh as well. Esp. in a mixed *nix environment as
the one I have.

Fair warning to the newbies:
bash is a great shell to learn, but learn bourne before anything else;
you can always count on bourne shell being there on a new machine but
not bash.
