Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS degree plus minimum of 5-6 years IT experience
- Minimum 2-4 years programming experience in at least 2 languages (not
HTML)
- At least 2 years experience: Technical skills in Oracle 8i, LDAP
directory technology, SAMBA (NT mounts in Unix space), BEA Weblogic
webserver technology, UNIX, JAVA coding and general web-based skills.
- Proven experience with SQL and database schema, LDAP schema, Entrust
PKI infrastructure (encryption, certification), etc.
- Proven experience in vendor management.
- Ability to handle overall system technology and be able to delve into
the internals of all above components.
- Wide practical knowledge of complex technical and administrative
methods, including the impact of integration with existing technologies
and/ or methods
- Understands infrastructure and how it can be exploited to meet
evolving business needs
- Proven experience in platform layers (Middleware, Database, Operating
Systems, Applications)
Details:
Purpose: IM Systems Support (IMSS) team member will assume primary
responsibility for GSK-owned components of Electronic Data Archive
(EDA). The individual will provide skilled technical support of
specific layers of the application space, management and tracking of
day-to-day operations, and extensive technical communication with
vendor. As a member of the systems support team, the role may also
include general support or programming for other key IM applications as
required.
Responsibilities:
- Team leader within IMSS for global technical support of EDA.
- Work with local operations, applications development, and vendor in
the specification, installation, tailoring and management of EDA
(Electronic Data Archive).
- Strong working relationship with SCS and IM clients to provide
efficient resolution of system issues
- Negotiate and provide strong working relationship with vendor to
ensure all issues are addressed expediently and communicated properly
- Provide programming, liaison, documentation support EDA and for other
key IM applications as required.
- Proactively investigate and recommend options for improved
efficiencies within IM Systems Support operations as related to above
responsibilities.
- Defines, tests, and pilots ensuring validation when required.
- Research solutions and utilize programming and infrastructure
expertise to develop solutions
Complexity/Interaction
- Participates in cross-functional teams representing IMSS
- Performs advanced data manipulation/processing
- Modifies known procedures and processes to overcome issues in an
effective and time-efficient manner
- Decisions require a complex process including the interpretation of
unusual and conflicting information
- Resolves problems which may be non-routine in nature, providing
technical solutions from within one discipline
- Interacts with several levels of business and IT management
