	Agenda 
	Presentation on Windows to Linux bridging strategies 
	and alternatives to Microsoft solutions as well as 
	ways to compliment Windows based IT infrastructure 
	with Linux. Introduction to Windows on Linux solutions 
	provided by NeTraverse will be discussed as well. 
	Bio 
	Mr. Hinkle, Vice President and CIO of NeTraverse, has 
	extensive experience in the ISP, service and software 
	industries. Prior to joining NeTraverse, Mr. Hinkle 
	worked for Earthlink (previously MindSpring) as the 
	Director of Technical Support. During his career with 
	Earthlink, he managed a 9 location technical support 
	call center with over 2000 employees responsible for 
	technical support of all of Earthlink's product lines. 
	Mr. Hinkle filled various roles where he managed the 
	company voice network, developed the MindSpring User's 
	Guide, and developed and maintained the company 
	Intranet. 

	At NeTraverse Mr. Hinkle oversees the development of 
	NeTraverse's popular Win4Lin products, customer 
	support, web, marketing and sales activities. Mr. 
	Hinkle was one of the founding employees of 
	NeTraverse. 

	Mr. Hinkle is an expert in Windows to Linux Migration 
	and is involved in various community projects. He is 
	the Editor of Desktop Linux Technologies 
	for Linuxworld Magazine (www.linuxworld.com) and is on 
	the formation committee of the Desktop Linux 
	Consortium (www.desktoplinuxconsortium.org). 
	Also he is a member of the Triangle Linux Users Group

	Mr Hinkle's education includes courses in mechanical 
	engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, and a

	About 
	Our group has represented the local area group of the 
	top tier of system administrators and network 
	engineers for the most highly-respected businesses in 
	this region since 1996.   Our membership is free to 
	all interested computer professionals; however, our 
	membership is restricted only to professionals (no 
	hobbyists).  We request yet do not require that the 
	speaker's company provide a pizza dinner for the group 
	(attendance ranges from 10-50 people from a total 
	membership of 124).  The meeting occurs on the second 
	Tuesday of each month normally from 6-7:30 PM.  When a 
	pizza dinner is available, TNTUG will call in the 
	order at 6 PM based on the head count at that time 
	unless other arrangements are made in advance.  Check 
	our web site for any last minute changes.  Meetings 
	are held at RTI International in Research Triangle 
	Park, NC at Dreyfus Auditorium.
