[TriLUG] Debian mouse config

I am having a time with my mouse configuration with a new debian install.  It 
is a logitech optical.  I indicated a ps/2 scroll but it is acting very 
funky.  When I mouseover an app it scrolls automagically without using the 
scroll button.  With redhat and mandrake I have solved this by running the 
mouseconfig option but I cant find it with Debian.  It doesnt responde nicely 
with the clicks either.  any help would be greatly appreciated.
