[TriLUG] Mailman Setup?

As far as an MTA goes...  do I have to use sendmail locally on the box?  Or 
can I point Mailman to another MTA (*cough*cough* exchange 5.5) and have it 
send through that?  If not then it's not too difficult to set up sendmail 
as a smart host and point that to the exchange box.
