[TriLUG] Maintenance Reminder

Hi folks,

I just wanted to remind everyone that the TriLUG mail server
will be down for maintenance tonight from 10pm to midnight.
I'm hoping I won't need the entire 2 hour window, but you
never know, so we've got it scheduled just in case.  During
the maintenance window the following services will be down:

imap and pop servers
smtp servers
mailman mailing lists

We will be upgrading our imap server from wu-imap version 2001a
to wu-imap version 2002d.  This is a general bugfix/performance
upgrade.  We will also be upgrading our smtp server from
postfix 1.1.7 to 2.0.14.  This will allow us, among other things,
to do things like automatically discard SoBig virus messages
before they make it to our mailing lists (thereby causing the
admins to have to check each and every one).  With postfix version
1.1.7 we could automatically reject them but we didn't want to
do that because that just generates more mail traffic.  Instead,
version 2.0.14 will allow us to discard those messages.  Be
forewarned, though, that if you send a message to trilug with
a subject that matches one from the SoBig virus, it will get
automatically discarded (sorry for all those of you with
Wicked Screensavers ;-).  We hope this will be a temporary
condition and we will be able to start delivering all messages
very soon, but for the moment, this seems to be our best bet.

me even if I'm doing something else right then.)
