I tried it out after someone here on the list recommended it.  It worked
fine and was easy to setup. You need a dedicated PC, but not much of
one.  It looks like an older version of Red Hat (a mod of VA Linux
actually).

It should work fine as a dedicated firewall for a corp or a user.
