I'm using RH9 with Sendmail and MailScanner. I used the auto-installer
for MailScanner and it worked great!

MailScanner is sort of a Mail Policy Enforcer. I have it set to not
allow any attachments with filenames *.exe, *.com, *.scr, *.pif, etc...
This strips out 90 - 95% of all viruses.

MailScanner will also run SpamAssassin for you and an anti-virus scanner
of your choice - you must supply the anti-virus scanner; but it does
work with Clam (the Open Source anti-virus scanner).

I would be happy to give a presentation on the install and configuration
of MailScanner with SpamAssassin and Clam, if folks are interested.
