Sorry for that.

Anyway, you can be an "alumni" member, that is, a member that pays no fees....
and only gets the "benefits" of reading the messages.

So, let's Mandrake lawyers come after me for this (please, get behind AOL
lawyers, thank you):

There was recently a controversy on the fact Mandrake Linux 9.2 would include
Ads.

What really happened ?

There were always ads in Mandrake Linux distros. Mainly about Mandrake own
offerings (and last time about Safari Online books).

The ads are not intrusive. They appear during the install process (when the
RPMS are installed) and some bookmarks. In the next release there will be one
commercial ad for Doctor Web - an anti-virus software.

In the various forum several Club users have requested an "ad free" version
for the Club members because they thought it could be an intrusive ad.
As you know the Linux User Club is a place where your voice can be listened!

Should we make a special ad free version for Club members? It's too much work
to remove the bookmarks. But it is possible to remove the install image ad.
However we would rather prefer to keep the same version for everyone (less
work, less risk). Remember that the ad appears only during the installation!

Please give your vote! If many Club members request an ad free version we will
build one.
