I had a lot of trouble getting Linux on my Tosh Satellite 1555 CDS.
(K6-2 375Mhz, 96MB RAM.) It failed with multiple version of Mandrake,
Redhat, and Gentoo.
I eventually tried Xandros on it, which worked like a charm. Xandros is
Debian-based, so maybe Debian is a good way to go.
