[TriLUG] exta mouse keys

I've read past messages about extra mouse keys.  My current struggle is
simply getting the two extra buttons recognized.  I run Mandrake 9.2 in
KDE.  When I run xev, the two extra buttons on the mouse don't result in
any events.

This is a Future Power optical ps/2 mouse.  I know, not a mainstream
mouse, but my suspicion is that the guts are similar or identical to
more common mice.

I tried the hotkeys route, but I'm getting a compilation error about
missing libdb3, even though it's clearly present.

I added the line: Option "Buttons" "7" to XF8Config-4, but that didn't
help.

How should I proceed?  I'm just not sure how to conduct further
investigation.
