These days, $/MB, hard drives can be as cheap as tapes.
There are obvious pros and cons for each.
Personally I like the virtues of a hard drive enough to overlook its
cons as a backup media.  I pair HD backup with DVD burning in my
operation for a nice mix of speed and reliability.

Still, I have a few systems which for one reason or another are still on
DLT.
