...so you should first have a RDBMS package installed? Will MySQL work?
or whatever that default RedHat DB program is? I too am interested in a
free Forum-type thing.

Well that is technically true though misleading.  In truth it works with
a 
number of popular RDBMS packages.  I'm running it with PostgreSQL at 
$WORK.
