I'd look into one of the Knoppix distros, they have the Open Source
equivalent of Partition Magic.

Once you have that, I'd make a "data" partition, FAT32, a couple of GB.
that you can mount from both Operating Systems.

Then install your Debian on the rest of the free space that you left.
