There is also the option of having your MUA display the text version
first, or alone, rather than the HTML version (most non-spam email I've
seen, including this guy's, include both).  Or you could have your MUA or
a preprocessor strip out the HTML version upon arrival.  This is in the
tradition of being strict in transmission, flexible in reception.
