If you use the --not-dash-escaped option, GnuPG will not add
the extra space and dash. You can either type that at the
command line, or put it directly into your GnuPG options
file (~/.gnupg/options) simply as "not-dash-escaped"
 
Note that non-GnuPG applications may not be able to
verify your signature, but why not encourage people to
use a free, open-source PGP application, right?
 
I personally don't worry about the dashes, except when I
am mailing in patches.
