This was covered pretty well on Slashdot and other big news sites over the 
weekend.  The scam email was one of the more professional cons going 
around, but it was a scam nonetheless.  They were taking advantage, also, 
of a bug in IE so hopefully few people here could have been victimized.

This is another good reason for PKI.  If the message was signed with a 
key, and that key were signed by a number of trustworthy people, it would 
be possible for you to ascertain the validity of the message.
