[TriLUG] My slow linux machine

Which version of openoffice do you use? Version 1.1 loads much more
quickly than 1.0. Also, you may want to look into the 'prelink'
program. It does something similar to what MacOS X calls
prebinding. It is able to organize library files so that they can be
loaded into RAM more efficiently.

A faster hard drive may also help.
