Hasn't z. and f. always been a part of OSS?  I can't speak from 
experience, but geez, Mr. f/z Stallman started/moved OSS.  What I've
seen are those fresh in from the commercial world are off put by 
f/z and advise the OSS community to be more like a customer service
org spouting "excellence" and "delight" crap-ola.

The nice thing about f. and z. is that you always know where you stand 
with those folks.  I'm still trying to figure if I agree or disagree
with Stallman.
