There are actually a whole generation of POE switches that are just
coming out, but unfortunately the prices won't be dropping for awhile.

The cost is fairly high, but if you have ten or more devices to power
then it is well worth the cost.  The power bricks for VoIP phones are
often sold separately and can go for up to $35/each. 

The convenience is also very nice.  You only need the UPS in the back
room powering the switch.  Of course you need a really good UPS.
