[Jim Ray sez:] win2003 server has the native print drivers that work for xp
pro clients off the server queue. Certain printer models like HP4100 and
HP4200 won't let you load drivers for NT4 workstations. I've got a
workaround by loading drivers locally and declaring UNC path to server-based
queues yet expect win2003 server to work if the feature is available. Since
something like the HP4M *does* work with sharing for XP and NT4 clients, I
feel comfortable with the method I used for installation. The error makes
me want to use Linux, Samba and CUPS instead, though...

[Jim Ray sez:] so, if corporate wants to go that route, I reckon I'll say
"yes, sir" or, in my case, "yes, ma'am" and get on with it.

Thanks, Jon.
