I have a Synaptics touchpad on my Gateway Solo 3450.  I run Gentoo, and
find that sometimes the tap-to-click will fail or cease to work.
Restarting X does not seem to fix this, I must reboot the machine.  I
have not yet found any explanation for it.  I'm not using any special
drivers, just plain imps/2
