By "coax", do you mean Ethernet 10Base2 , with BNC connectors? 
(Hopefully you don't mean the really old 10Base5 stuff with vampire
taps!)
I think I have an old hub around somewhere with one 10Base2 port and 8
10BaseT, if that would work.
