Yes, by a long shot because I actually went and tail -f'd /var/log/messages
before physically removing they key, but the umount command never takes more
than a split second.  

I suspected Daleth might have some insight since I remember his post about
using automount with one of these.  I'm glad to see he's getting the errors
too.  Thanks.
