You can also do an about:config in the url line of Mozilla or Firefox
and add the string name "general.useragent.override" with a value of
something like "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)"
I believe that is what the plug-in does in a more automated fashion.
One kind of fun thing is to make your user agent the google spider, and
see how some sites are optimised for the search engines. I note that
this method did not work with the shoebox site...they are trying really
hard to keep out anything other than IE 6.

There is a plugin call user agent switching that tells mozilla to report
itself as IE. I have used it to access some sites and allow connection.

It's not *that* hard.

JavaScripts document.all in IE seems to kill a lot of pages for Mozilla
based browsers that I see.

And scripters using those objects can easily paint themselves into an IE

only corner without knowing that property ain't a blessed one.

So the real question is when is someone going to write a
deal-with-IE-site
pluggin?

We all know the MSCE paper-tigers will never get out of M$ pocket.
