[TriLUG] Newbie RH Install Question

Also...the Mandrake 10 install includes a utility (runs during the
install) to resize your partitions. It did a very nice job when I set
up a dual boot on my XP laptop which had a single 40GB NTFS partition.
Of course, it was a pretty new install, so there wasn't a lot of
fragmentation...if you've been using the XP partition for a while, it
might be harder to do, as I don't think the Mandrake utility will move
data.

RHL 9 End of Life was April 30, 2004. Newbie should try Fedora Core 2,
Mandrake 10 or SuSE 9.1? (whatever is the latest). You'll need empty
space
(unpartitioned) on your harddrive or a second harddrive in your system.

Best practice: BACKUP ALL YOUR DATA before proceeding. This way, if you
do hose your winXP, you can always rebuild and have all your data safe.

good luck,
David M.
