Our client, a software company here in RTP, is looking for an IT Manager.

Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on systems administration and network administration for the
company to include Microsoft- and UNIX-based desktop and server systems
along with accounting and customer relationship management (CRM) software
Install, configure, maintain, upgrade and support all computer systems
Analyze and resolve software and hardware problems on servers and desktop
systems; interface with system and software vendors for support issues, as
appropriate
Perform system backups, maintain data files and monitor system
configurations to ensure data integrity and optimal performance
Configure and maintain company’s network
Provide Web services to company (Web hosting is at a co-located facility):
Provide Web site support and content creation/updating
Develop process and system to transition to internal self-service content
management by content owners
Create online customer forum
Propose and communicate approved systems policies across the company for
efficient and secure operations. Works with management team (Development,
Product Management, Marketing, Sales, Finance, Human Resources) to
understand system requirements and provide solutions.
Manage activities within IT budget; order software and hardware; determine
budget requirements for future planning cycles.

Requirements:
4+ years systems and network administration experience; experience as
systems and network administrator in a software company strongly
preferred.
2+ years Web site development and support; content management experience
preferred.
Systems support experience:  proficiency in installation, maintenance,
administration of:
Microsoft systems (SQL Server, Windows NT/2000, NT/2000 Server, Exchange
Server, Office, Outlook)
UNIX systems (Solaris, AIX, HP-UX, Linux) (ie: Linux IP tables for
firewall protection)
Internet development and support experience:
Development in raw HTML, PHP, JavaScript, WYSIWYG tools
CGI, SSL, IPSEC, firewalls, FTP
Experience maintaining accounting and CRM application
Experience negotiating and ordering hardware and software.
Proficiency in:
Computer hardware assembly, installation, upgrading, and maintenance
Diagnosing hardware and software problems
Security technologies:  firewalls, VPN (IPSEC), sniffers, monitoring,
intrusion detection
RAID installation
Software license auditing
Hardware and software inventorying
Scheduling and automating backups
Web site development
BS in Computer Science, or equivalent.  MCSE with Internet experience
strongly preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business audiences
Team oriented, self-starter, strong ability to prioritize activities.

- BS in Computer Science
- Three years of production development experience

- Proficient in Object Orientated analysis, design, and maintaining
complex programs
- Experience developing Windows or Unix applications
- Strong Knowledge of data structures and algorithms (searching, sorting,
etc.) and their       effective use.
- Familiarity with a variety of development tools and environments
- Experience using IDEs (preferably eclipse)
- Experience with performance tuning techniques, JSP, javascript, HTML,
XML, and .Net are desired but not required.
