I agree with Jeremy's thoughts on this subject. I've had to do
extensive testing with both Apache 1.3.x, 2.x, and had to transition
tons of content. While the outlook was not good for certain kinds of
content with the first releases of Apache 2, most of those problems
have been released.
Specifically, I've found Apache 2 to be solid for clients who were
moving away from web servers from Redmond, WA. Newer modules for
LDAP, AD, and Frontpage have reduced the worry factor for those
content developers/owners.
