offloading email is not nessecerily a function of DNS.  You can cluster
email too.  ISPs typically use clusting or load balancing rarely DNS
based today.  However, hosting companies rarely load balance email for
their clients.  Typically a clients information in the hosting world is
all one one box (email, dns, web, database, ftp, etc).
