Nothing lasts forever. There's not enough space in 1.44MB, so they
decided to help themselves and make the boot image 6MB. Funny, and
not.

Yes, if your hardware supports that. You can also install from isos
on your own hdd using an FC2 kernel in /boot. It works pretty well
for minimal installs, but if you're doing something graphical, get
ready to fix X.
