[TriLUG] OT: need a cool HTML/Java countdown webpage

My project is winding down and everyone here is getting nervous.  Not about the fact that we'll all be looking for work in a few weeks rather the amount of work we still have left to do in a short time.  Every morning we get an e-mail with the time remaining until the "drop dead" time which is 17:00 Eastern, 12/23/2004.

What I wanted to create is a Java countdown applet (which I can't write as I know next to no Java) counting down backwards to the date.  The neato part is I want a picture of Frank, the freaky rabbit costume guy from Donnie Darko, in the background (either just his "face" or entire body shot).  Overall I wanted the page to be black, or dark, to heighten the overall creepy feeling.  The page will be hosted from my laptop running Knoppix 3.6.

This little diddy is well past both my Java and graphic abilities but if anyone is BORED and wants to do something fun I'd be a very happy camper if you would create such a page for our little project.
